What three critical skills help you in your work?
Listening to understand, not to respond.Keeping respect at the core of every interaction by treating others like they want to be treated. Storytelling through data.

What motivates you?
I get motivated when I mentor. Young people have so many dreams and aspirations, and they are so bright! They motivate me to see life through a different lens full of possibilities.

What music artist do you never get tired of?
Love me some Karol G right now. Her newest album “Mañana Será Bonito”has been playing on repeat.

What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for the opportunities INTRUST has provided me. I have experienced leadership development opportunities, career growth and work-life balance. My community involvement jump-started in 2017 when INTRUST nominated me as a campaign ambassador for United Way. Since then, I have continued to be a champion for the City of Wichita.

What is something you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
1. Be yourself. You're good enough. You're smart and capable. 2. Your Latino dad is your superpower; tap into it, don't fight it. 3. Self-doubt is inevitable, don't let that hold you back.

What do you think the secret to a good life is?
The answer is simple: ride your bike and live car-light. Riding my bike helps improve my physical and mental health, helps me reduce my carbon footprint, connects me with nature, and allows me to spend less and save more!

What is your leadership style?
I found my leadership identity by serving others. I am a community volunteer, serving in different capacities, like reading with 2nd reads and serving on various nonprofit boards that help reach undeserved communities. Through this service, I have found ways to empathize with people with different experiences.

What book are you reading now? Why?
I am reading a Stephen King book, Holly. I wanted to read something scary during spooky season. Plus, it was on the free table at work.
