What do you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
I would have significantly benefited early in my career if I had known the difference between "power over" versus "power with" and its impact on the people I worked with. Since working for Thrive Restaurant Group, I have learned that "power with" promotes collaborations, empowerment and equality, emphasizing collective decision-making and positive outcomes.

What is one piece of advice that has served you well in your journey and from whom did you get it?
The most valuable thing I have learned is the importance of healthy relationships. The work is the work, but how we do it with those we spend so much time with is what matters.

What’s the last series you binge-watched?
“Quarterback” on Netflix.

What music artist do you never get tired of?
I'm a big Americana / Folk country follower but if I have to pick one it would be Sturgill Simpson.

What characteristic do you most admire in others and why?
Humility is the characteristic I admire the most in others. Humble leaders respect others and don't boast about their accomplishments or try to appear superior. They foster positive and healthy relationships through this approach.

What do you love most about your work?
I love that my role at Thrive is more than just the work we do to support the Human Resources functions within the organization. It's so much bigger than that. We view the humans in our company as real people with real situations. We think about how our decisions impact everyone, not just the bottom line. It attracted me to Thrive and is lived out daily throughout the organization. This mentality has positively impacted my leadership style and even my relationships outside of work.

What are your strengths and why?
My greatest strength is being a connector. When I can bring two ideas together, make systems work together, or introduce someone who can help make them better, that is when I am at my best.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself and why?
Joyful. A good friend labeled me joyful in a meeting, which stuck with me. I live in a constant state of happiness and try to think positively about everything. I like this word because it reflects a lasting sense of well-being and fulfillment, giving me purpose.
